I was born in a little town of Ashern or should we say the community of Vogar which is a stone's throw from the "Rez" (Dog Creek Reserve) we are famous because "Adam Beach" is from our Rez. I have visited plenty of times to look up relatives and my past ...My grandparents are buried here as well as many cousins and my sister Judy as well as my father Henry.
As very small children we took many bus trips to the Rez to be taken care of Granny while my Mother Rose partied and drank herself into oblivion along with my uncles and aunties. My father would of been part of it in the beginnings b4 the great split .I think i was the only one born at the Ashern Hospital , simply because they had migrated to the big city of Winnipeg soon after my birth.Later on when i caught "whooping cough" i spent almost 6 months in the Grey Nuns Hospital so they really didnt have a choice into moving into the city if they wanted to spend time with me ...I gather i must of caught another serious disease because there is noway they would of kept me that long ...My sister Judy was born a year later on my Birthday Aprill 5th 1957 so we have the same birthdate ...I find that odd but my mother swears this is fact ...I think drinking had something to do with the date maybe forgotten memory ?? I don't know for sure . I have 2 brothers Marvin the 3rd child and he is very successful and extremely talented cartoonist in his spare time and the only kid adopted hence his name (Marv Terry) and youngest brother Uncle Richard ...who is also famous in his own way ..."Bank Robber extrodaire" he can't get the "getaway " part done correctly ...He manages to get the money always without a GUN or anything violent in nature in the process however gets caught each and everytime shortly there after ...He had managed to stay out of jail for at least 3 years this last time but thats it ...he just went back in for the summer ...not a bank robbery this time but something else ...Drug related..
